Healthcare Process Management

Healthcare faces considerable challenges
Staff and resources are increasingly scarce and demographic changes result in increasing demand for healthcare. Additionally, innovations are insufficiently tailored to clinical practice and are therefore not implemented or do not achieve their intended impact.

The focus area healthcare process management aims to contribute to addressing these challenges and guiding the transformation that is needed to keep healthcare sustainable.

Technology may help to address these challenges, but we need to consider the context in which such technology will be used. Therefore, we involve all stakeholders, from patients to policy makers and from engineers to healthcare professionals, to ensure that the innovation will reach its intended effect.
Central in our initiative is interdisciplinary collaboration across universities. Given the different expertise and research focus of the different universities, collaborative efforts will help us create better solutions. We also collaborate with healthcare organizations, governmental institutes, industry partners and many more to ensure the involvement of stakeholders as well as the link to implementation and practice.
